Uninstall & data removal

Leaving should be as clean as arriving. This page separates three actions that are easy to confuse: removing local data, deleting your account, and uninstalling the app. Each is explicit — none silently implies another.

The recommended path, in the app

1. Finish or stop any dictation or meeting capture.
2. Open Settings then Privacy then Delete all local data and read the preview. It lists exactly what will be removed, and nothing else.
3. If you also want your account gone, use the separate account-deletion action. Local and cloud deletion are reported separately, so you know what happened where.
4. Quit Meosu, turn off Launch at login, and move Meosu.app to the Trash.

What Meosu stores on your Mac

Everything the app owns lives in these exact locations:

• ~/Library/Application Support/Meosu — history (if you enabled it), scratchpad, personalization, metrics, diagnostics.
• User-defaults domain app.meosu.com — settings and preferences.
• ~/Library/Caches/app.meosu.com/org.sparkle-project.Sparkle — update downloads.
• Keychain services app.meosu.com and app.meosu.com.meeting-recovery-key — session and encryption keys. Values are never exported.

If the app cannot launch

Quit all Meosu processes, remove the two folders above in Finder, and in Keychain Access remove only the Meosu items under those two service names. Leave everything unrelated intact — the app's own bounded deletion action is always safer than a broad shell command.

Anything unclear, or something left behind we didn't list? Tell us — an incomplete uninstall is a bug.
